Last year’s Champions as well as the crowd’s favourite, the Police Cadet Corps, put up a spectacular and near flawless performance. However, they were truly disappointed when they were denied the coveted trophy.
The Boys’ Brigade managed to upstage the Police Cadet Corps when they displayed magnificent team spirit and executed entertaining drill movements. The BB secured a double victory when their Commander, Ng Charn Cheun was presented the Best Commander award. Congratulations !
The School’s Youth Cadet Corps (KRS) participated in the annual event for the first time. Although they could not match other teams in many areas, there was nothing amateur about their sportsmanship. With only two weeks of intensive training, they defied all odds, took up the challenge and marched their hearts out. With more training and proper guidance, they certainly can be the best in the very near future!
We salute all the participating teams for the superlative performances and high level of commitment. They had put their hearts and souls into hours of training to master their steps and drills formation. The enthusiasm and spirit shown were highly commendable! Let’s us hope that the same spirit that has driven them to display those superb performances, will also drive them to achieve academic excellence!

Comments from the judges and participants:
En. Azahar Bin Mahmud, Leftenan Muda KRS :
“In today’s competition no one is a loser as everyone has done a good job. However, there
is still room for improvement. You must train harder if you want to compete at the Zone or Inter Zone level. If you can perfect your steps, SMKTD can be one of the top teams in Footdrill.
Pegawai Waran II Mohd Zaini Bin Abd Rahman.
(An Army Officer with the Army Camp in
Sg.Besi):
I’m impressed with the ingeniously choreographed drill formations by the Police Cadet Corps.8The sight of the Police Cadets marching in unison testified to the many grueling hours of training they had put in.
However, the Boys’ Brigade has a slight edge over the Police Cadet Corps. The strong team spirit shown by the Boys’ Brigade was their winning factor. It was especially apparent when the loud staccato sounds from their hobnail boots echo in unison throughout their drill movements.
Ng Charn Chuen (BB): “Initially I was rather disappointed as I have made many mistakes. We have worked very hard for today’s competition.”
Eugene Lim (BB): “I nearly fainted but the team spirit keeps me going.”
Lance (Scouts) : “We tried our best, but we are only human and we make mistakes.”
Hwu Ning ( Girl Guides): “I think we have improved a lot compared to last year.”
Yeh Yang ( St John’s Ambulance): “I’m extremely proud. This is my first footdrill competition. It was an overwhelming experience.”
Thank you very much to:
